Prof. Damir Aganović, MD, PhD

Dr. Damir Aganović is a prominent urologist from Sarajevo with many years of experience in the field of urology, especially focused on benign prostate diseases and bladder obstruction. He built his career at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, where he significantly contributed to the research and treatment in urology. His work includes research into bladder obstruction indicators used to predict conditions associated with benign prostate enlargement. In addition to clinical work, he also served as the Director General of the Clinical Center, emphasizing the importance of patient care and employee well-being.

Born in Sarajevo, Dr. Aganovic is a full-time professor of urology at the University of Sarajevo and a doctor of medical sciences with many years of experience in the treatment of urogenital diseases. He specialized in urology in 1996 and received his doctorate in 2002 on the topic of urodynamic diagnosis of functional bladder obstruction in benign prostatic hyperplasia. His specializations include surgical treatment of benign and malignant prostate diseases, and he has published significant papers on urodynamics, bladder obstruction and related diagnostics. He has also trained in transplantation and laparoscopic neurological surgery in renowned institutions, including Massachusetts General Hospital in the USA, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Germany and Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève in Switzerland. In addition to clinical work, he is the author of several monographs on modern methods of learning in medicine and has participated in the development of numerous educational manuals for medical students. He is also a member of the editorial boards of several medical journals, where he actively contributes to the medical community through reviews and professional analysis.
