Dr. Nedim Memišević began his medical education in Sarajevo and completed it at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his internship at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, after which he worked at the Heart Center of the UKCS in the Departments of Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology. He completed his specialization in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Zentralklinik Bad Berka in Germany, where he also received additional training in interventional cardiology.

He continued his professional career at the University Clinic of Cardiology in Jena, where he was involved in performing invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures, participating in international clinical studies, and teaching at the Faculty of Medicine of Friedrich Schiller University. As Deputy Director of the Interventional Department of the Clinic for Internal Medicine, he supervises the training of young specialists in interventional cardiology. In collaboration with the Institute of Radiology, he led an outpatient clinic for non-invasive diagnosis of coronary artery disease using CT coronary angiography.

He is highly specialized in interventional treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiac pacing. His research focuses on invasive and non-invasive diagnostics of coronary artery disease, interventional therapy of acute coronary syndromes, and percutaneous aortic valve implantation (TAVI).

He has been certified by the Academy of the German Society of Cardiology in interventional cardiology, cardiac device implantation, heart failure treatment, and minimally invasive aortic valve therapy (TAVI).
