Lina Rayan-Duranović, MD

Specialist in Pulmonology

She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo in 2011, after which she began her specialization in pulmonology at the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in the field of lung cancer research at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo. Her research focus is on the application of cytostatic therapy based on lean body mass with the aim of improving survival and quality of life for patients.

She gained professional experience in both hospital and outpatient settings, where she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases. Her area of expertise includes functional lung tests, lung and abdominal ultrasound, bronchoscopy, thoracocentesis, interpretation of X-ray and CT thorax images, staging of lung cancer, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, and interpretation of ECGs. She also has experience in managing the side effects of chemo- and immunotherapy and participates in clinical trials and collaborates with organizations conducting them.

Her professional career began in the pharmaceutical industry, where she worked in medical education and research on the effects of pharmaceutical products. She completed her pulmonology specialization at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, where she gained experience in performing both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.

She continuously enhances her knowledge through further education in the field of pulmonology, with a particular emphasis on invasive diagnostic methods and oncological pulmonology.
