Lina Rayan-Duranović, MD

Specialist in Pulmonology

Pulmonologist with extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases.

She gained her professional experience working in a tertiary healthcare institution, where she focused on thoracic oncology and complex respiratory diseases, and later in primary healthcare, where she also served as Head of Department.

Clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), respiratory infections, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension, pleural diseases, and a broad spectrum of other acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

Particular area of professional interest is sleep-related breathing disorders, including the diagnosis of obstructive and central sleep apnea, as well as the selection and follow-up of patients undergoing CPAP therapy. Professional expertise also includes bronchoscopic diagnostics, pulmonary function testing, and the assessment of complex respiratory patients through the integration of clinical, radiological, and functional findings.

Active involvement in continuing medical education and scientific research is complemented by membership in the European Respiratory Society (ERS). Professional development is continuously enhanced through international education and training in pulmonology, respiratory physiology, and sleep medicine.

Doctoral research is focused on biomarkers and molecular mechanisms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with particular emphasis on the prediction of disease severity and exacerbations.

Patient care is guided by a commitment to thorough diagnostic assessment, an individualized treatment approach, and evidence-based medicine.
