Specialist in General Surgery, Subspecialist in Vascular Surgery

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo, where he also completed his specialization in general surgery. He completed his subspecialization in vascular surgery at the University Clinical Center Tuzla. He pursued further training in wound care in Warsaw, and in vascular surgery in Brno and Prague.

He is employed at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (CCUS) as a vascular surgeon. He also holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Sarajevo School of Science and Technology.
In his daily clinical practice, he is involved in the organization and performance of open vascular surgical procedures, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, treatment of Leriche’s syndrome, peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, arteriovenous fistulas, varicose veins of the extremities, diabetic foot, wound management, and endovascular surgery.

As part of his doctoral studies, he initiated a research project titled “SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and Early Postpartum Complications in Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH and RS),” the first study of its kind conducted on such a broad sample in the country.

He is the author and co-author of numerous professional and scientific articles in the fields of vascular surgery, diabetic foot treatment, aneurysms, endovascular procedures, health economics, and postoperative complications, published in both national and international medical journals.

He speaks English at an advanced level and German at a basic level. He is currently writing a textbook on vascular surgery intended for medical students.
