A leading radiology specialist whose career combines clinical expertise, academic work, and international experience in oncological and preventive radiology. She began her medical education at the University of Sarajevo and continued it in the Netherlands, where she graduated cum laude from the University of Medicine at VU Medical Center in Amsterdam. She completed her specialization in radiology at the same center under the mentorship of renowned experts, gaining deep expertise in diagnostic and oncological radiology, particularly in the application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the head and neck region.

Her professional work encompasses oncological radiology with an emphasis on MRI assessment of laryngeal, head, and neck cancers, where she focuses on predictive and prognostic models for treatment planning and response evaluation. As part of her engagement in the Caribbean region, she developed and led preventive radiology programs for early breast cancer detection, contributing to the improvement of screening culture and healthcare system organization.

She is the author of numerous scientific publications in leading international journals, and her significant research on the use of MRI in predicting response to radiotherapy in laryngeal carcinoma was published in Radiology and cited in the further development of personalized oncology. She is actively involved in the work of professional associations, including the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and its head and neck radiology subcommittee, and regularly lectures and participates in international congresses and educational projects.

In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Ljumanović continuously enhances her competencies through specialized courses in trauma and emergency radiology, otorhinoradiology, neuroradiology, and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, maintaining a high level of expertise in the dynamic field of radiology.
