Mirsad Zornić, MD

Specialist in Pathology

He has been a member of the Association of Pathologists and Cytologists of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina since its establishment in 2015 and is also a member of the Medical Chamber of Sarajevo Canton.

He completed his medical studies and specialization in pathology at the University of Tuzla. Following his specialization, he spent five years at the Cantonal Hospital in Bihać, working in the Department of Pathological Anatomy. There, he was independently and consultatively involved in general, surgical, gynecological, urological, gastrointestinal, head and neck pathology, with a particular focus on exfoliative and aspiration cytopathology of various organ systems, primarily gynecological, thyroid, body fluids, lung, and breast cytology.

His primary area of interest is immunohistochemical diagnostics, which is currently the cornerstone of pathological diagnosis. During his tenure at the Cantonal Hospital in Bihać, he was a member of oncology, gynecology, surgery, and urology consilia and briefly served on the hospital's Expert Council. He is trained in diagnosing and performing ex tempore (urgent intraoperative) examinations and is qualified to conduct autopsies independently.

He has participated in numerous congresses, symposia, and training programs in pathology, surgery, and oncology. He has attended the Bryan Warren School of Pathology on several occasions, the Bosnian-Turkish School of Cytopathology, and the Thyroid Cytopathology Course in Graz, Austria.

As an assistant, he taught pathology at the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Tuzla and anatomy and pharmacology at the University of Bihać.
