Elvira Mušić, MD

Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics

A specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, she completed her medical studies at the University of Belgrade, followed by her specialization in gynecology and obstetrics at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. She began her career at the Dr. Safet Mujić Cantonal Hospital in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she gained extensive experience in a variety of gynecological and obstetric procedures.

Throughout her career, she has performed gynecological surgeries, including diagnostic hysteroscopy and targeted biopsies, simple hysteroscopic procedures such as polypectomy, endometrial ablation, conization, curettage, laparotomy (including salpingectomy, oophorectomy, ovarian cystectomy, and adhesiolysis), abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, myomectomy, pelvic floor muscle surgery, and Bartholin cyst marsupialization. In the field of obstetrics, she provides comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including psychological aspects, obstetric analgesia, and anesthesia. She is particularly skilled in managing high-risk pregnancies, labor, and the postpartum period. Her experience includes episiotomy, vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery, vaginal breech delivery, cesarean section, and managing complications such as third and fourth-degree perineal lacerations, retained placenta, postpartum hemorrhage, and shoulder dystocia. She also possesses in-depth knowledge of ultrasound aspects related to normal pelvic anatomy, gynecological disorders, reproductive gynecology, and gynecological endocrinology.

In addition to formal education, she has attended several courses and postgraduate training programs, including advanced laparoscopy at the "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš" General Hospital in Sarajevo in 2009, a gynecology and obstetrics ultrasound course by the Ian Donald School in 2009, and training on the treatment of endometrial and cervical cancer at the University Clinical Hospital Mostar in 2013.

With her extensive experience in gynecology and obstetrics, she has developed expertise in managing complex medical cases and providing high-quality healthcare. Her professional and research interests encompass various aspects of gynecology, obstetrics, ultrasound diagnostics, and preventive medicine. She has published scholarly articles and continues to contribute to the medical community through her engagement and professional development.
