Azra Husić, MD, PhD
Specialist in Internal Medicine
Subspecialist in Gastroenterohepatology
Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo, where she completed her specialization in internal medicine and subspecialization in gastroenterohepatology. She gained extensive clinical experience at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, where she worked at the Clinic for Gastroenterohepatology, as well as through her engagement with the World Health Organization (WHO) Office, participating in public health projects and professional collaboration with international institutions.
Since 2020, she has been employed at the “Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš” General Hospital, as a gastroenterohepatology subspecialist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine.
She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases, particularly liver and biliary tract disorders. In her practice, she applies modern therapeutic approaches in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).
She has completed professional training in leading European centers in the field of gastroenterohepatology. She is a member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO).
Author of numerous professional and scientific articles and invited lecturer at national and international congresses.
