Access to Services via Referral ("Uputnica")
ASA Hospital offers patients from Bosnia and Herzegovina the possibility to access services via a referral ("Uputnica"), thanks to the agreement signed with the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Insurance coverage does not include outpatient diagnostic services such as specialist consultations, ultrasound examinations, stress tests (ergometry), and similar procedures. Therefore, patients are personally responsible for covering the cost of these services.
Below is the list of services available through the referral system:
Cardiology
- Coronary angiography with placement of 1 stent
- Emergency coronary angiography with placement of 1 stent
- Coronary angiography with placement of 2 or more stents
- Emergency coronary angiography with placement of 2 or more stents
- Placement of 1 stent
- Implants
Orthopaedics and Traumatology
- Surgery for congenital spinal deformities in children
- Surgery for multiple spinal fractures
- Surgery for multiple pelvic fractures
- Blood and blood products
- Implants
Vascular Surgery / Surgery of Head and Neck Blood Vessels
- Carotid artery surgery
- Surgery of other extracranial blood vessels
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm
- Implants
Invasive Interventional Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures on Blood Vessels
- Carotid artery stenting
Patients from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Following the signing of the agreement with the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the financing of healthcare services from the Federal Solidarity Fund, all insured persons from the Federation of BiH may receive these services via referral at ASA Hospital, without incurring any cost for the listed procedures.
Depending on medical indication, insured individuals may access these services based on a referral from their family medicine physician, accompanied by a specialist’s finding, and approved by an authorized representative of the respective Cantonal Health Insurance Fund.
