Representatives of the ASA Hospital project team participated in the SSST Med ReCon Conference
At the invitation of the organizing committee of the SSST Med ReCon conference held on May 13 and 14, 2023 at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology, representatives of the ASA Hospital project team, project director Prof. Dr. Rasim Jusufović MD PhD and quality manager M.Sc. Adnan Bilić, participated as panelists in the important topic of the Global Healthcare System and Pharmacoeconomics.
The panel discussion was opened by Prof. Tarik Catic, PhD Pharm with an explanation of health system spending and financing trends, how Pharmacoeconomics and Health Technology Assessment can provide a solution for better health systems and why it is important to establish undergraduate and postgraduate education of health workers in this area.
Prof. Jusufović, based on the experience of building ASA Hospitals, gave several examples of how the achievements of health economics can be applied in the BiH health system and what are the benefits in order to make the system function more efficiently. There was also talk about how the BiH health care system can be further arranged or reformed to make health care services more accessible and of better quality, and whether there are enough experts in this very interesting field – health economics and Pharmacoeconomics – in BiH.
The third topic concerned the question of how quality management can lead to improved efficiency in healthcare and whether healthcare workers and managers are aware of the need for quality management as a modern approach to management, which was discussed by M.Sc. Bilić.
After the presentation of the panelists, the present students joined the discussion, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine SSST Prof. dr. Aida Hajdarpašić and the founder of the University Prof. Dr. Ejup Ganić.
