Race for the Cure
The team of ASA Hospital together with colleagues from ASA Group, ASA Bank, ASA Osiguranja and ASA Gradnje supported the Race for the Cure today with a symbolic walk and thus showed all women suffering from breast cancer that they are not alone in their fight!
More than 90% of women with breast cancer can be cured if the disease is diagnosed at an early (localized) stage and treated correctly. Five-year survival in this case is 97%.
According to the latest available data from the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, of the total number of newly detected malignant tumors in women in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, breast cancer was the leading localization in 2020 with a share of 18.4%.
Adopting healthy lifestyles (proper diet, physical activity, not smoking, weight control) and regular examinations (mammography and ultrasound examination, bimanual examination and breast self-examination) are of great importance for the prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
This is an opportunity to invite all women to take care of their health throughout the year and to have regular checkups.
Health is the most important thing!
