Cooperation Agreement between ASA Hospital and Medical University of Vienna International

The director of the ASA Hospital project, doc. dr. Rasim Jusufović and prof. dr. Christian J. Herold, director of International Relations at the Medical University of Vienna and head of the Radiological Diagnostics Department at Vienna General Hospital, signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two health institutions today.

The signing of the agreement is also the beginning of the presentation of the new project – the first private general hospital in Bosnia and Herzegovina and an indication that, by building professional partnerships with renowned international health institutions and universities, the ASA Group will ensure the successful operation of the ASA Hospital, which will, together with the largest private health system in BiH, the Eurofarm Centar chain of polyclinics and laboratories, provide quality and comprehensive health service to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We are delighted that Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon get its first private hospital which will, through the quality of its health services, compete with the major health institutions worldwide. Medical University of Vienna International will be a partner and a clinical manager on this project, and we will be happy to share our expertise, experience and knowledge with our colleagues in BiH, so as to strengthen the health sector in BiH together”, said prof. dr. Harold.

The president of the Management Board of the ASA Group, Eldin Hadžiselimović, pointed out that this project is important for the entire BiH because the ASA Group, in this way, wants to further strengthen the quality of its healthcare. “Investment in the health system will also be reflected through investment in scholarships and the development of special student programmes, all through cooperation with educational institutions,” added Hadžiselimović.

“The construction of the hospital is going according to plan, and the completion of construction and the start of work with patients are planned in the last quarter of next year. The hospital will consist of eight floors, with a capacity of 180 hospital beds and 10 operating rooms. Our hospital will provide jobs for about 400 employees”, said the ASA Hospital director, doc. dr. Rasim Jusufović; he also added that they look forward to cooperating with public health and educational institutions to achieve long-term professional and scientific cooperation. “In addition to modern and efficient health services for all BiH citizens, one of our main goals is to bring together the health professionals from different fields who will see this health institution as a place where they wish to work, learn and train”, concluded Jusufović.

Using the advantages of smart technology, through digitalization and artificial intelligence, patients of ASA Hospital will receive diagnosis, therapy and all other necessary care in a very short time.

Today’s event was also attended by Austria’s ambassador in BiH, Ulrike Hartmann and Kemal Kozarić, BiH’s ambassador in Austria.

As part of a visit to Sarajevo, an expert lecture by professor Christian J. Harold was also organized: he shared his experience with the professional public, and presented current topics in the field of professional and scientific expertise.
